Activities in the area are:-
Heritage Walks - there are signposts around town, which offer the avid hiker a wide variety of choices, from gentle strolls into the woods; where you might spot the Purple Crested and Knysna Turaco, and Narina Trogon. Another walk includes a kilometre long tunnel which was used to move ore.
Mountain biking or 4x4 - the terrain is perfect for these.
Experience the wonder of this most ancient geology and its associated botanical richness, or play a gentle round of golf or game of bowls in the velvet air.
Within a twelve kilometre radius of the town you can reach half a dozen nature and wildlife reserves; inside an hour, through Malelane, you can be in the Kruger National Park. In two hours by road you can reach either Maputo or Mbabane, the capitals of neighbouring Mozambique and Swaziland.
